As Team Manager you'll be responsible for the line management of a team of Accounts Administrators, who provide a service for Hertfordshire departments, citizens, and businesses. The manager will also oversee any admin duties within the team to ensure delivery against agreed KPI's. You'll identify training and development needs and monitor the quality of the service being delivered and support the Service Delivery Manager in achieving service levels by maintaining a positive, motivated team dedicated to the delivery of excellent customer service and committed to the business objectives of the team. Key duties include:
  • Manage the work of the team through appropriate allocation of work, monitoring of workload and assisting staff using specialist knowledge of the service. Develop and maintain team training plans to meet service needs and ensure that multi-skilling and cross-training takes place.
  • Attend regular client meetings for the service you have responsibility to deliver
  • Actively identify and participate in improvement initiatives; Communicate and manage business changes effectively.
  • Oversee appropriate projects within the specialist area and manage the process effectively.
  • Deal with day-to-day people and operational issues using current absence, grievance, and disciplinary procedures, liaising with HR and senior management as appropriate and take necessary action. Actively manage sickness levels within the team, conducting return to work interviews using agreed procedures and supporting staff as required.
  • Use management information to effectively manage the performance of the team to maintain and improve the standard of service delivered.


What you'll need to do the role:

If you already have experience working in a client & customer focused managerial/team leading role within an accounts/finance/transactional service environment, then we want to hear from you! You should have high level of understanding and expertise with integrated Accounts application as well as continually keeping up to date with new developments.

You'll have experience of deliver against the KPI's for the Finance Teams, providing MI for client meetings and leading discussions with clients around the software that supports the service.
