Job title: Senior Project Accountant

Salary: up to £50,000 depending on skills and experience

What you'll be doing:

• Providing Project Accounting support, challenge and advice to the Project teams through active engagement in Bids, Project Risk reviews and Contract Reviews
  
• Complying with the relevant elements of Naval Ships processes and application of BAE Systems Finance Policies and Financial Controls
  
• Assisting Project Managers in the production of robust forecast updates and completion of all weekly and monthly forecasting as required
  
• Analysing, reviewing, challenging and advising on performance data, ensuring data integrity between the various systems
  
• Maintaining and reviewing the project Contract Status Reports (CSR's) including relevant comments to aid management understanding of movements and variances

Your skills and experiences:

• Full membership of a relevant professional accounting body - CIMA, ACCA or ACA/ICAS
• Experience gained in a business partnering or project delivery capacity
• Experience in data analysis and management reporting
• Finance experience gained within engineering, manufacturing, ship building or defence Environment (highly desirable)
• Good understanding of Financial Control (highly desirable)
• Familiarity with MoD contracting and accounting processes (highly desirable)

The Maritime Naval Ships Finance team:

As a Senior Project Accountant, you will support key MoD/International design and build programmes for Maritime Naval Ships. The design is known as Global Combat Ships (GCS) and we are building 8 vessels for the UK MoD on site in Glasgow in addition to design variants for both the Australian and Canadian navies which are to be constructed in-country.

The Finance team play a key part in both reaching the desired position on day one and then delivering our programme commitment to quality and budget. This is an exciting hands-on opportunity as part of a FTSE 100 finance team to gain broad financial and project management experience on our Customer Funded delivery Programmes.
