Your field of responsibility
This is an opportunity to shape and coordinate Credit Suisse Internal Audit’s coverage of Compliance and General Counsel (GC) risk in the Americas. Reporting to the US Director for Internal Audit Compliance and General Counsel, you will be responsible for:
- Assessing risk in the Chief Compliance Officer and GC functions and delivering compelling audit assurance, including influencing senior management.
- Developing and leading teams to prepare and implement upon the Compliance and GC audit coverage plans, driven by both the ongoing audit risk assessment and regulatory expectations/commitments.
- Collaborating closely with other audit teams to assess and calibrate coverage of Compliance and GC risks in their audits.
- Maintaining trust and effective relationships the organization’s leaders and with external regulators.
- Collaborating closely with Compliance Audit colleagues to ensure appropriate audit coverage of emerging Compliance risks impacting the Bank.
- Representing Internal Audit in first and second line of defense governance forums, offering effective review and challenge.
- Building top-performing teams by coaching and mentoring across multiple locations, developing subject matter knowledge as well as professional and executive skills to bring value and insight to the organization.
- Encouraging a culture of trust and setting the tone for a positive and goal- oriented environment that promotes collaboration, diversity and inclusiveness, and adopting innovation and the use of new technologies to progress people and behavioral risk management.

Your skills and experience
We are looking for a candidate with these desired skills:
- A proven ability of managing audits of Compliance and GC topics with an excellent understanding of US banking and broker-dealer regulations.
- A legal background or a better understanding of Legal risks, including litigation and legal agreement risks.
- Understanding and familiarity with the operation/management of in-house Compliance and GC functions and their constituent frameworks/programs, including risk assessments performed by, and the KPIs/KRIs that guide, such functions.
- Proven knowledge of relevant regulations, working and engaging with regulators, and verifying the remediation of regulatory actions.
- Agile problem solving, who recognizes that innovation is critical and has a track record of delivering change and meeting challenges.
- Exceptional and effective proficiencies in building and managing relationships with senior business partners.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and can present complex topics in a simple and concise way.
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive culture and value varied perspectives.
