This insurance firm are seeking a Management Accountant to join them in Bristol. Reporting into the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for leading the production of monthly management accounts as well as provide input and review the day-to-day transactions of the business.

Description

  • Lead the completion of the management accounts including reviewing and completing balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Collaborate and supply input on the preparation of other reports as required by other group entities.
  • Engage with key internal and external stakeholders, supplying explanations and schedules for support.
  • Engage and collaborate across the group ensuring appropriate accounting of inter company transactions as well as their reconciliation.
  • Maintain and update Forecasts and Budgets.
  • Take ownership of Key reports driving the financial statements.
  • Prepare and submit Insurance Premium Tax returns and other regulatory returns.
  • Review the cash position and provide recommendations for future requirements.
  • Review work done by the Assistant Management Accountant (AMA).
  • Support and empower the AMA in developing skills and taking ownership of various aspects of the role.
  • Support the Finance Manager (FM) with various tasks that require investigation and teamwork.
  • Develop with the role to be a key person of contact for finance matters under your remit

Profile

  • Part Qualified ACCA, CIMA, or fully qualified AAT
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working across multiple accounting packages.
  • Advanced Excel and Word packages.
  • Commercially aware and ability to make judgements based on current world events.
  • Group reporting and consolidation.
