The opportunity
As part of our Finance team, as a Senior Service Line Management Accountant you'll be the business advisor to the Oceania FSO senior stakeholders, support the Service Line Finance Leader to ensure effective and efficient reporting, financial planning and forecasting processes at the Regional level. This role is responsible for Financial planning and analysis, coordination of month end and year end processes within FSO Service lines and CBS, and ensure compliance with firm policies and procedures.
This role is offered on a permanent, full time basis and can be based in either Melbourne or Sydney.

The opportunity

Your key responsibilities
- Prepare, review and consolidate annual budgets and periodical forecasts for the SL or a defined SL portfolio. Ensure timely delivery and compliance with top down cost controls and profit growth guidelines.
- Review financial results against budgets, forecasts and historical performance, and identify opportunities to improve results. Provide analyses and recommendations to enable timely forward-focused decision-making.
- Manage and coordinate the Service Line accounting team to provide reporting and insights on weekly and monthly results.
- Collaborate with SL Talent teams and Resource Management teams to assist with workforce modelling in conjunction with financial planning and forecasting and analyses.
- Understanding and working with the SL Markets and Markets Finance (MFA) to gain knowledge of the demand and pipeline aspects of the SL and linking this with the Supply side of the business.
- Provide on the job coaching to the Management Accounting Team to assist in their career development.
- Manage and guide the Management Accounting team to ensure effective and efficient Service Delivery to the Service Line.
- Partnering with the business to be a trusted business advisor for Finance matters.
- A focus on building valuable knowledge of the SL and relationships with the leadership of the SL.
- Be the liaison between the financial organization and the line of business personnel.
Skills and attributes for success
To qualify for the role you must have
- Bachelor Degree in Finance or a related field
- Membership of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, the Institute of Chartered Practising Accountants or equivalent.
- At least 6-10 years experience in finance related roles
- Good analytical skills and experience in scenario based planning, forecasting or financial modelling
- Proven problem-solving skills and experience
- Excellent communication skills
Ideally, you'll also have
- Good accounting skills
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Previous experience in a professional services environment (preferred but not essential)
- Previous experience in managing a small team
