The Reporting Accountant Assistant takes responsibility for the preparation, submission, and accounting for all of the European VAT returns for the RCI Europe; is responsible for RCI Europe Inter-company processes including invoicing, reporting, settlements and associated monthly reconciliations.

Description
VAT
- Responsible for preparation, arranging manager's review, submission & payment of VAT returns for the business (Points & Weeks transactions) where registrations are held across Europe
- Liaison with internal Business Partners and external advisors necessary for submission of certain VAT returns.
- Maintain VAT calendar to ensure all internal and statutory deadlines are met regarding companies above.
- Support the Group tax team.
- Provide support to AP with regard VAT treatment for invoices.
- Responsibility for completing Oracle VAT control accounts balance sheet reconciliations within specified deadlines at month end and quarter end, based on risk rating (High, Medium & Low risk).
- Ensure VAT process notes are up to date.
Inter-company
- Responsible for managing the outbound and inbound inter-company invoices and resolve any queries.
- Prepare inter-company reconciliations (proof) at month end and confirm all inter-company balances.
- Investigate and resolve any Inter-company differences.
- Arrange settlement of inter-company balances through netting and on adhoc basis.
- Responsible for posting and reconciling the WDOS statements.
- Responsibility for completing assigned balance sheet reconciliations within specified deadlines at month end and quarter end, based on risk rating (High, Medium & Low risk).
Adhoc
- Assist with SOX compliance where it impacts upon the return submission process SOX testing support.
- Adhoc projects such as Making Tax Digital improvement.
Profile
- Part Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Strong Excel skills
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to work under time pressures
- Strong as both a team member and working alone
- Highly self-motivated and able to show initiative
