The Role

The Wholesale Finance Analyst role will be a key person in the Commercial Finance team. You will be responsible for preparing performance reports on a timely and accurate basis that highlights key trends and issues on sales, margin and costs for the Wholesale function. There will also be the opportunity to get involved in projects and assist with P&L models for prospective new and renewal of existing Wholesale customers. You will work closely with a wide variety of contacts across Wholesale, Finance and Merchandising.

You Will
  • Prepare performance reports on a timely and accurate basis that highlights key trends and issues on sales, margin and costs for the wholesale function
  • Work closely with your line manager and the wholesale team to assess the financial suitability of future investments (with focus on the franchise estate) along with performing post audits.
  • I understand the financial impact of decisions made in the relevant function and can explain the implications to my manager and other financial leaders.
  • Work with my customers to understand the financial costs and benefits of activities;
    • to support a future activity
    • to understand the impact of an activity that has been implemented
  • Build strong working relationships with my customers and colleagues within Finance in order to ensure appropriate controls are in place
  • Provide monthly insight into tracking sales teams bonus progress
  • Contribute to the customer credit risk management process
  • Contribute towards the budgeting and forecasting processes within my area to ensure effective financial planning
  • Provide a forward-looking view of performance in relation to the budget & forecast, highlighting any significant movements (risks & opportunities) to input in to the latest annual view of group profit
  • Act on your own initiative to identify and investigate emerging trends and propose a set of next steps to address with line manager and customers

You Are
  • Currently studying towards a professional accountancy qualification (CIMA / ACA) and / or have a relevant degree
  • An inquisitive individual with an analytical mid-set
  • Capable of building strong and robust relationships with non-finance and finance colleagues
  • A good communicator
  • Keen to learn and play an important role, working both as part of finance an operational teams
  • Prepared to take on responsibility for your own professional and career development
  • Skilled in spreadsheets and other key "MS Office" applications
