Senior Capital Accountant Position with a balance of responsibilities that includes acquisition accounting, Fixed asset accounting and costing accounting. You will report into the Financial Controller have the opportunity to be a key decision maker within the organisation.

This is one of the UK's fastest growing Housing organisations which pride themselves on a customer first and ethical business model. With strategic growth plans, they are now looking to recruit a Lead Capital Accountant to assist with acquisition accounting, fixed assets and costing.
Description
- Leadership in preparation of accounting for fixed assets
- Leadership in preparation of materials for the approval of fixed asset acquisition payments
- Supports cashflow forecasting for short-term capital requirements
- Liaising with other departments of the firm to ensure efficient management of fixed asset accounting and management of short-term cash flow
- Lead fixed asset accounting policies, controls and procedures
- Preparation of documentation required for audit purposes and leadership in dealing with acquisition payment and fixed asset audit queries
- Mentoring and training two junior accounting team members
- Dealing with ad hoc queries from internal and external stakeholders regarding housing fixed assets, particularly around the payment and accounting processes
- Lead on grant reporting and audits
- Perform defect cost analysis and reporting, and lead on the recovery of costs incurred
- Identify and implement process improvements to improve efficiency and robustness of controls
Profile
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, ICAEW)
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures pertaining to fixed assets
- Solid understanding of the calculation of VAT, CIS & SDLT liabilities and compliance with the relevant statutory filing obligations
- Able to forge strong relationships with business partners and senior leadership team
- Detailed knowledge of Excel (pivot table, vlookup, etc.)
- Strong desire to improve current working practices and systems
- Experience in a line manager role
