We now have the position of Head of Accounting and Financial Control to recruit. This position reports to the Director of Finance - Fuel, leading a team of 30 Accountants and trainees in providing best in class accounting and financial control service to this £3bn p.a. turnover division. The team, based in Crewe, has controllership of around 25 entities across 12 countries whilst also serving a number of Group functions.

This is a key role for Radius and we expect the successful individual to be on a trajectory to a Director role.

What would your day to day look like?

• All aspects of financial controllership for the Fuel legal entities
• Lead the external audit process for the Fuel entities
• Work to improve the month-end reporting timeline
• Management and Development of a large team
• Play a key role in the design and implementation of new general ledger system Sage X3
• Oversee statutory reporting and tax compliance for the Fuel entities, working closely with Group reporting and teams
• All aspects of expense management, budgeting and reporting for both the Fuel Division and Group functions
• Work closely with the Credit department on Bad debt accounting and provisioning
• Own all financial aspects of the Payroll processes across each jurisdiction including providing salary analysis to budget holders
• Preparation, review and submission of cashflow forecasts working to improve accuracy and reporting outputs
• Proactively improve the control environment and efficiency of team processes where possible

What do we expect of you?

• Build and maintain strong working relationships with other areas of Finance and key stakeholders around the business
• Regular interaction with P & L owners and Director-level stakeholders, developing strong working relationships and offering challenge where needed
• Excellent leadership capability in leading a team of finance professionals
• Ability to produce board-level quality reporting and analysis
• Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA preferred), minimum 5 years PQE
• Practice-trained but not first move into industry
