LCH Collateral Technology: Calypso Business Analyst

Role Overview

The LCH Collateral Technology department provides systems for the efficient processing (and investment) of collateral posted to the Clearing House from all participants on all markets cleared by LCH. Our Clearing Members demand standardized and high quality services that allow them to easily manage their collateral at the Clearing House.

Improving and developing out Collateral Services is at the fore of LCH strategic goals. Our ability to deliver, receive and process collateral efficiently and rapidly is key to our success in an environment of increased collateral demand and changing segregation requirements.

LCH uses market infrastructure providers, commercial banks, central banks, triparty collateral management agents, global custodians and (I) CSDs in day-to-day operations. We accept collateral from a wide range of jurisdictions and operate under European and US regulations.

As LCH develops its collateral services, we need experienced and talented individuals to drive our development agenda.

Key Objectives

As a key member of the Collateral IT Team, the BA will actively participate in internal and external requirements definition, design, Calypso configuration and testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Excellent at requirement gathering and documenting user stories
  • Analysis or writing requirements and identify areas where custom code is required to be implemented by the Development teams.
  • Implementing required Calypso configuration and performing development testing of the solution.
  • Working closely with the development and testing teams to ensure that product requirements / functionality meet customer needs and assist in providing estimates for analysis and development.
  • Working with the team on developing Calypso CATT automation test scripts and owning test suite management of SME domain.
  • Work closely with Business stakeholders to deliver customer specific solutions, including assisting in responding to Clearing Member needs.
  • Assist Application support in resolving Production issues.
  • Facilitate sprint planning, retrospective and sprint demos as Scrum Master if required.
  • Ensure cross-team coordination
  • Act as a delivery lead when necessary. Take responsibility for managing dependencies between our team and third parties or between our team and other scrum teams.
  • Strengthen the presence of our team as an Agile centre of excellence. Actively contribute to the company's Agile and Lean Community. Keep the rest of the company network aware of our activities.
  • Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog.


Reporting

The Calypso Business Analyst reports to the Collateral Technology BA team Manager, and work closely with the IT development and Product teams as well as key stakeholders from Collateral Operations, Risk, Finance and Front Office.

Knowledge and Skills

At least 7+ years of experience on cross asset Calypso implementation, in below particular areas:

  • Experience of latest Calypso versions (preferable v15 and v16)
  • Experience of implementing Back-office and Collateral solution
  • FX, Money Market, Fixed Income and Repo asset classes and their life cycle events and related pricer's of assets.
  • Collateral Management (GMRA, CSA and Triparty).
  • Expert on standard back office processing Cash and Security Settlement (Swift), messages (confirmation, advices and statements), Operation (Task Station), Corporate Action, Accounting (General Ledger, P&L Accounting, etc.).
  • Workflow and Exception Management
  • Static Data (SSI, Entities, Contacts, etc.)
  • Calypso CATT Tool.
  • SQL
  • Good knowledge of Data Reporting and Cloud implementation experience would be preferable.


Personal Skills

  • Good interpersonal skills and capacity to deal with key stakeholders (heads of FO/Middle Office/Risk and Collateral Operations in particular)
  • Demonstrable writing skills and in particular write specification/process documentation that can be understood by functional, managerial and technical teams
  • Good analytical skills and capacity to think outside the box/get creative to solve issues
  • Straightforward and dynamic approach to issues
  • Team spirit and capacity to fit in a multicultural team across a minimum of 2 entities (London, and Paris)


Experience

At least 10+ years' experience from the Financial Industry, experience in the following areas:
  • Preferred Techno-Functional Skill set.
  • Worked as Scrum Master or Scrum Team member.
  • Delivering externally facing projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Preferable Scrum Master Certified


Education

Degree level education to grade 2.1 or equivalent.
