The difference you'll make.

  • Managing the definition and the technical direction, roadmap, and technical solutions for the product(s) implementation as well as collaborating with the different Design Authorities to identify, define, and reuse Design Patterns, best practices, and architectural decisions. You'll feel the impact of your work across our organization

  • Delivering implementing APIs best practices in the products

  • Reporting to senior management at several levels

  • Providing steer to the adoption of the Santander Cloud strategy for the products that you will support

  • Ensuring that you lead from the front and mentor a team of engineers to further their technical prowess. You succeed when your team does

What you'll bring.

  • Strong, in-depth, and demonstrable hands-on experience in AWS, both in the architecture definition and in the solution implementation stages.

  • Background in solutions design and Cloud Architecture, defining and using architectural patterns, with a focus on leveraging all AWS native cloud services.

  • End to End knowledge and hands-on experience on API and Microservices design.

  • Professional Experience in AWS Serverless technology (Lambda / Step Functions) and Kubernetes in an operational environment.

  • Strong understanding/experience of implementing DevOps processes including CI/CD pipelines and automation of security, performance and testing tooling.

  • Proven track record of developing and delivering large scale software solutions in AWS involving frontend, backend, infrastructure, automation, security & testing.

It would also be nice for you to have.

  • Passion for huge, scalable, resilient systems, event driven architectures, databases, and the right technology for the job.

  • Experience of solutions orientated around JavaScript, Java, and knowledge of strengths and weaknesses of different programming languages.

  • Ability to work with, devise, and implement CI/CD pipelines and practices

  • Knowledge of other cloud platforms aside from AWS

What else you need to know.

We will be conducting all interviews via telephone or video-conference where possible.

This role is open nationally and we are offering remote working, however the office should you wish to attend, would be our Milton Keynes office.
