Financial Reporting Matters – Senior Associate

The opportunity

The Financial Reporting Matters Senior Associate role will play a key role in supporting the Financial Reporting Matters team on internal and external financial reporting, controlling and acquisition integration related activities. This will involve producing work for senior stakeholders and collaborating widely across different functional teams. The role sits within a newly created team and offers the opportunity to help shape the approach and implementation of best practice across many processes that will help drive efficiencies and operational excellence across Finance.

Your key responsibilities

  • Responsible for monthly reporting, budgeting and forecasting of Other Charges working with stakeholders to ensure costs are correctly categorised. This includes the provision of detailed information around Total Income and Other Charges by unit and profit pool to enable submission of Allocatable Income to EMEIA Partner Matters.
  • Actively help implement and support the Balance Sheet review process for the trading subsidiaries ensuring that controls such as regular reconciliations are in place and entries are understood by the relevant owners.
  • Assist with external reporting and survey completion, for example statutory and regulatory reporting
  • Ensure SLA’s are implemented between the subsidiaries and the LLP.
  • Support the financial integration of new businesses acquired including co-ordination of activities and interim management of certain acquired business processes during transition period e.g. IDC management
  • Lead and participate in ad hoc tax and statutory projects and initiatives as required
  • Support financial governance activities for trading subsidiary Boards including reporting and analysis, forecast and planning and investment appraisal analysis
  • Working closely with the Global community to identify and leverage best practices

Skills and attributes for success

  • Willingness to take responsibility and end-to-end ownership for processes and work collaboratively across finance.
  • Confident and be able to build strong relationships, and an ability to challenge mind sets and status quo with senior stakeholders and maintain resilience at all times.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate financial information clearly and succinctly across a wide range of users.
  • Proactive, organised and self-sufficient working style with the ability to prioritise and multi-task to meet changing demands.
  • Demonstrates curiosity through a continuous learning mindset.
  • Ability to leverage best practice and learnings from regional and global to drive operational excellence across Finance.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Preferably a part qualified or qualified accountant e.g.CIMA, ACCA, ACA
  • Relevant experience in professional services firm (or similar)
