The management and development of market information is provided by our Information Services function. Market information is accurate, real-time and end of day price data which is essential for the users of LSEG markets to make informed and timely trading and investment decisions. The Data & Analytics division markets and sells this information to our member firms, information vendors, companies, and investors.

The role of the Market Data Auditor is critical to ensure that the Group operates a 'level playing field' with regards to client use of LSE data and that the Real-Time data and agency revenue are protected. In addition, the role is essential to ensure that FTSE Russell audit targets are met and to ensure that RT data agency revenue from FTSE Russell is correctly invoiced and that these revenues are validated through client audits.

You will be expected to challenge current procedures, drive change, and complete a programme of real time audits across LSE, FTSE & Russell. This is a critical function to retain revenues across existing LSEG products and services.

Key responsibilities:
  • Conduct RT market data audits at end client & market data vendor sites using best practice guidelines to identify discrepancies in end user entitlement and reporting processes
  • Produce accurate and detailed audit analysis from a variety of complex datasets from multiple data sources within short timescales and summarize concisely to the audited party, whilst on client site
  • Develop and maintain effective internal and external working relationships and ensure that expectations are managed throughout the audit process
  • Effectively plan and conclude audit work to ensure that individual and team targets are met each quarter
  • Manage any conflicts should they arise from the audit and be able to work with a wide range of stakeholders and present findings to senior committees
  • Interpreting LSEG policy issues and queries raised by the business and assisting in implementing compliance policies and procedures in relation of market data audits
  • Manage customer issues and queries, ensuring they are treated as high priority and that the Manager, Market Data Compliance & Administration is kept fully informed
  • Show strong leadership skills to ensure a first-class service is provided to each of our customers. Encourage new ways of thinking, innovation and creativity amongst members of the team
  • Willingness to travel around 3-5 weeks in a year


Experience Profile / Key Skills
  • Experience within the financial services industry/capital markets/exchange, particularly with an extensive market data audit knowledge
  • Knowledge of vendor and third-party application providers' products and permissioning systems (DACs, EMRS, Wombat etc.)
  • Knowledge of third-party market data inventory systems (MDM, Infomatch etc.)
  • Knowledge of ESMA, EMIR, MiFiD II and other EU regulation in relation to market data
  • Knowledge of the LSEG market data and reporting policies and of other major exchanges
  • Proven experience of researching and analysing data with rigour and being able to identify data inconsistencies
  • Knowledge and full understanding of how market data is used in a trading environment (i.e. low latency), algo trading, non-display applications, Order Management Systems, Execution Management Systems, Systematic Internalisers, risk and portfolio management, etc.
  • Understanding of Alternative Trading Platforms (ATP) such as contracts for difference (CFD), binary options, spread betting instrumens. Full understanding of derived data polices and data manipulation processes
  • Excellent Microsoft skills, particularly Excel
  • Ability to deliver high quality work within agreed timescales
  • High level of accuracy in checking and processing the information
  • Ability to think pragmatically and drive the delivery of the assigned projects (i.e. audits)
  • Proven experience in presenting works to senior management
  • Strong negotiator and influencer and maintain solid customer relationships. Ability to form good working relationships with colleagues, clients and data vendors
  • Outstanding multi-tasking and teamwork capabilities. Need to work on multiple audits at the same time
  • Advanced Degree (e.g., MBA, MSc) educated
