We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as a Capital Management Actuary to join our Capital Management team.
Who are we?
We want to be the best place that any of our colleagues have ever worked.
We are the UK's largest long-term savings and retirement business with c.13 million customers and c.£300 billion of assets under administration. As a market leader and FTSE100 organisation, we understand that our scale and expertise means that we have a key role to play for our customers, colleagues and our communities to help as many people as possible secure a life of possibilities. We are tackling key environmental and social issues such as transitioning our portfolio to net zero by 2050 - but we're not done yet.
We've seen huge growth and change, and this means there is enormous opportunity for our 7,000 colleagues to grow alongside us.
The role
The role is a permanent role within our Balance Sheet Management team, part of the wider Capital Management area, supporting risk management and optimisation of Life Company solvency, capital and liquidity and the safe delivery of cash to the Group.
To support Phoenix's growth ambitions there is an ongoing need to refine and optimise our Internal Model and Matching Adjustment scope to ensure there are appropriate, approved capital treatments for the investments and products that will underpin our success. As these changes are developed, approved and then 'go live', there is a need to safely transition the balance sheet by ensuring updated methodologies are embedded in our risk management processes and that each Life Company remains within risk appetite on the transition date.
This role will primarily support the Senior Capital Management Actuary leading projects that develop and deliver methodologies in a wide variety of technical, whilst commercially focussed, areas such as capital policy, risk appetite, product pricing, and solvency monitoring:
- That safely embed Internal Model and other change into the Balance Sheet Management team.
- That develop our Capital and Illiquidity Risk Appetite Frameworks in response to business change.
- That support the Open Business in embedding changes to the Internal Model into pricing
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a technically strong qualified actuary, ideally with capital management, ALM or life reporting experience with strong Solvency II balance sheet knowledge. The successful candidate will be self-starting, highly organised, be a great team player and be able to work within a project environment exhibiting excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Why choose us?
Bring your 'whole self', skills and dedication to the Phoenix Group and we'll recognise your effort, support your development and help to drive your ambition. We'll ensure you're rewarded for your contribution with a competitive package that includes an attractive pension, annual bonus potential, private medical insurance, generous holiday entitlement, enhanced maternity and adoption leave and a range of other financial services and lifestyle flexible benefits.
Sound good? If you are ready to help us make Phoenix the best place you've ever worked, we'd love to hear from you.
