About the role
As a Payroll Specialist you should produce timely and accurate payroll; weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly.
Key responsibilities
- Act as day-to-day liaison with payroll vendor – ADP GlobalView.
- Respond to employee tickets/queries ensuring timely review and resolution of issues.
- Maintain payroll procedure manuals and business process documents.
- Ensure quality controls in the payroll process and update documentation- includes reconciliation of results and audit checks.
- Highlight and escalate relevant matters that may impact the running of payrolls to Team Lead.
- Conduct timely and accurate processing of cyclical events including weekly, bi-weekly, month-end, qtr-end, and year-end activities.
- Maintain up to date knowledge and expertise of statutory legislation and ADP systems.
- Timely and efficient response to M&A’s
- Kronos time-keeping reporting for payroll purposes
- Payroll Tax monitoring to ensure compliance
Qualifications and skills
- 3-5 Years of Canada/US payroll experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in education and experience
- Knowledge of Year End processing requirements for multiple states
- Proficient with word and excel.
- Ability to work under time constraints to ensure deadlines are met.
- Experience with SAP Payroll highly desired
- Canada payroll tax knowledge
- Multi-state payroll knowledge
- Fluent in English (Desirable intermediate French)
