The Assistant Finance Manager will work closely with the Group Finance Manager, assisting them in the delivery of the department’s responsibilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the Group’s Consolidation activities including:
- Develop and implement monthly reporting packs
- Develop and implement the month end close calendar to maximise the efficiency of the close process and monitor compliance with deadlines
- Owner of Consolidation Policy; Procedure; and required Work Instructions
- Preparation of monthly consolidation in compliance with IFRS
- Preparation of “Full Profit & Loss Account”, “Balance Sheet” and “Cash Flow” internal reports and supporting analysis to support the FP&A team in their preparation of Board Reporting
- Preparation and development of monthly Capex Reporting
- Ensure monthly reconciliation of the Management Accounts with the GL
- Manage the Group’s Intercompany Activities including:
- Develop and implement the intercompany matrix and associated monthly confirmation process
- Owner of Intercompany Policy; Procedures; and required Work Instructions
- Co-ordination of / Oversight of monthly confirmation process
- Source of guidance for resolution of disputes between parties
- Ultimately responsible for ensuring group-wide consolidation and reconciliation of inter-company balances and elimination of differences
- Develop the process and controls for Unbilled Inter-company
- Manage the Group Corporate Cost Management process
- Owner of Global Corporate Cost recharge policy; procedure and required work instructions
- Oversee monthly reporting for Corporate costs
- Oversee and support in the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts
- Manage the Group’s Discontinued Operations:
- Responsible for the day-to-day accounting transactions within each ledger including timely monthly close
- Close liaison with operational sites for the (reduced) activity being recorded through the ledgers
- Responsible for coordinating and delivering the statutory financial statements and bringing the compliance matters up to date
- Line manager responsibility for the Group Accountant providing support and development as required
- Help drive a consistent global approach to the use and reporting of the ERP System
- Be a strong mentor to develop both finance and non-finance colleagues
- Perform any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by Line Management within the timeframe specified to meet business requirements
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to Quality, Health, Safety and the Environment
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, and lead by example to ensure company goals are achieved and exceeded
PERSONAL PROFILE
- Qualified accountant
- Proven track record within a Group Finance Team - ideally within a complex environment on a global scale
- Ideally prior experience of the Oil & Gas sector or similar industry
- Ideally experience within private equity
- Solid understanding of accounting standards – in particular, dealing with consolidation and business combination accounting entries in a multi-currency environment
- Good experience of managing auditors and advisors
- Proven background in maintaining strong financial processes, risk and governance
- Confident; driven; and ambitious - but a down to earth individual
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Excellent ERP experience
- Strong MS Office skills
