Our client is looking for a Manager to join their ESG, Advisory, Audit & Assurance team.

The Role: Our client's growing Advisory and Assurance practice is looking for additional management resource; an integral component of the ability to meet client demand and deliver differentiated services to their clients. 
     
Key Responsibilities: 
Leveraging your in-depth knowledge of the financial services sustainability landscape to act as a 'trusted advisor' to senior client stakeholders, with quality assurance being at the core of the Company's proposition.
Holding and continuing to develop fluent knowledge of sustainable finance practices, market developments, regulatory requirements and the competitive landscape. Including knowledge of regulations and translating these into technical guidance tailored for client specific situations (examples include TCFD; Scope 3 financed emissions; physical, transition and liability risks; biodiversity; TNFD; emerging standards and expectations from the ISSB; EU and UK Green Taxonomies)
Delivering market shaping outcomes for clients across suite of sustainable finance propositions and offerings.
Acting in the capacity of 'engagement manager', taking ownership for all aspects of engagement pursuit and delivery from pitching, scoping, programme and team selection through to delivery, risk and quality management and budgetary control.
Educating and advising both internal and external stakeholders on sustainable finance, translating regulations and the transformation imperative into understandable and actionable insight.
Assisting clients with increasing their understanding of ESG frameworks and reporting requirements relevant to their business decisions, including which disclosures to focus on, managing related data, establishing controls, performing analysis, risk management and modelling.
Leading client engagements including performing current state versus target state gap assessments against ESG frameworks (such as the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures) and ESG reporting (such as the disclosure of ESG metrics in companies' Annual Report or referenced from their Annual Report).
Leading and managing engagements with clients, including managing stakeholders, quality and risk, deliverables and a team.
Providing oversight and input as a subject matter expert on ESG frameworks and reporting.
Working in a diverse team and promoting an inclusive culture where colleagues are recognised for their contribution.
 
Key Skills and Experience:    
Understanding of ESG issues considered material to financial services
Experience of providing robust, accurate and comparable audit and/or assurance, including a detailed understanding of recognised assurance standards such as ISAE 3000.
An understanding of the role of assurance, the different types of services that can be provided (e.g. limited vs reasonable assurance) and specific challenges in the ESG assurance market (e.g. 'greenwashing').
Detailed understanding of non-financial reporting processes, internal controls and data.
Strong, applied experience of ESG reporting and disclosure requirements across a number of sectors.
A detailed understanding of key ESG frameworks. That will include, but will not be limited to; TCFD, the Global Reporting Initiatives (“GRI”) and Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (“SASB”) and the emerging regulatory requirements and investor expectations in relation to these frameworks.
Subject matters expertise in relation to certain ESG metrics or information (e.g. climate, waste management, diversity, financial inclusion).
A commitment to quality and demonstrable experience of applying professional scepticism.
Analytical and problem solving capabilities, with the willingness to be hands-on and pay attention to detail.
Demonstrable experience of building great client relationships and internal and external networks.
Experience managing others, and supporting/mentoring team members.
Experience of motivating and developing high performing diverse teams.
An ability to think creatively, generate innovative ideas, challenge the status quo and deliver change.
