The Role

We have an opportunity for a Junior Management Accountant to join the team, reporting to the Senior Management Accountant looking after inventory. This will involve dealing with all inventory related adjustments, ensuring accurate reporting around group stock levels and providing stakeholders with financial insight into inventory related movements.

The successful candidate will have an excellent opportunity to progress their career, supporting the senior management accountant in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. They will have experience of management accounting and will be comfortable of working against deadlines, to a high standard. In addition, experience of finance/ERP systems would also be advantageous.

You Will
  • Support the Senior Management Accountant in providing timely and up to date financials and MI.
  • Be responsible for assisting in the delivery of a well understood and explainable result in the area of inventory related costs.
  • Support on month-end workflows as required.
  • Complete month-end reporting on faulty, quality and legal stock issues.
  • Regularly liaise with stores and distribution centres regarding any stock related queries/issues.
  • Monitor stock losses in stores and communicate with the retail management team about these results.
  • Develop inventory analysis reports and explain variances.
  • Ensure that any actions comply with accounting standards and legislative frameworks
  • Look for ways to improve current processes to increase business understanding, speed up month-end and enhance controls
  • Support the senior management team and peers as required.
  • Be able to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders in a clear and engaging way
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests to ensure that a clean audit is achieved, thus minimising risk
  • Complete ad-hoc projects as required outside of normal duties

You Are
  • Currently studying towards an accountancy professional qualification (AAT/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Proactive, driven, resilient, and able to work under your own initiative
  • Able to hit the ground running, with a positive and driven attitude to make a real difference
  • A strong communicator, able to build relationships with the team and cross functional team members
  • An advanced excel user
  • An exceptionally IT literate individual
