What you will do
• Manage operational and administrative processes to action and implement approved capital investments, maintenance and repair plans
• Provide expert advice and manage all aspects of departmental capital works projects and asset accounting, including preparation of briefing notes and position papers
• Manage departmental capital and maintenance budgets and spend, including applications under the various minor capital programs, and assess maintenance and repair proposals for departmental sites
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with service delivery partners to ensure successful service provision, delivery of approved major capital works projects, maintenance and repair plans and resolve issues effectively
• Communicate with influence to convey and guide acceptance of complex financial and major capital works projects to departmental governance committees and diverse audiences to achieve organisational objectives
• Proactively manage DAF's asset register and provide expert asset management and asset accounting advice across DAF
• Manage DAF's comprehensive non-current assets 5-year rolling revaluation program and all impacts of that on fixed asset register and financial statements, including satisfying all QAO requirements
• Manage DAF's 3-year rolling condition assessment program
• Manage and prepare Capital Investment Plan as part of annual budget process (including budget papers) and departmental Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP)
• Manage departmental Property Portfolio on the Government Land Register in accordance with the guidelines provided through the Government Land Policies; and
• Provide advice in relation to acquisition and disposal processes together with tenure conversion in respect of property portfolio matters
• Work efficiently with Business Partners to ensure DAF's building portfolio complies with mandatory WHS requirements
• Maintain DAF's infrastructure, heavy plant and vehicle insurance arrangements including claims made through QGIF (Queensland Government Insurance Fund).
