As part of our ongoing expansion, we have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Financial Controller to join our team in Shrewsbury.

This is a high profiled role that demands a confident, self-motivated approach, commercial acumen and the gravitas to influence and advise key stakeholders. This role will come with full study support for qualification in your choice of CIMA, ACCA or ACA.

The ideal candidate will be a business/finance graduate with appropriate experience and education. Advanced computer skills and experience of Microsoft Office are preferable, in addition to excellent attention to detail and working to tight deadlines. Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
  • Extensive involvement and development in multiple areas such as reducing break-even, cost management, and supporting higher management with decision making through reporting and trend analysis
  • Building relationships with colleagues and customers to better understand their needs and create solutions to meet these
  • Reviewing our practices and contributing ideas on the ways we can improve them
  • Understanding, reporting and explaining movements in numbers
  • Maintaining company fiduciary responsibilities
  • Exciting projects and responding to Adhoc financial reporting queries

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Accounting or Finance degree
  • Fully committed to pursuing a professional accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA)
  • Experience of financial consolidations, good system skills and the ability to work well in a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and take full responsibility for their duties
  • Attention to detail and proficient analytical skills
  • Full and valid Driving Licence
  • Legally authorised to work in the UK without restriction
