As a Procurement Risk and Assurance Manager you'll be ensuring that the third parties supporting our operations are robust, fit for purpose and embody Sainsbury's values. This is important to understand and manage the risks that sit across our highly complex supply chain. You'll ensure that our risk management, supplier assurance and governance is up to scratch, and fully supported by the right systems, process and people by leading the thinking and management of it across our supply base.

  • Lead the GNFR Procurement risk, governance and supplier assurance framework, ensuring the right system, process and people support to be effective and efficient
  • To develop, deploy and maintain the Procurement Governance Model and Supplier Assurance Framework across the GNFR supply base, ensuring it meets the changing and complex environment in which we operate
  • Act as a focal point of knowledge on frameworks, training and developing colleagues in good practice in dealing with suppliers, supplier assurance and due diligence processes across Sainsbury's, working with other supplier assurance teams
  • Develop and maintain key controls to ensure rigour and robustness across governance and supplier assurance programmes including management of all Category teams' development actions with suppliers and compliance to how we work, with a focus of continuous improvement
  • Lead the relationship with external providers to ensure systems and platforms support the team to work effectively and efficiently, creating clear roadmaps that step the team on
  • Engage with key stakeholders and risk owners across the business including legal, data clinic, information security, legal and Supplier Relationship Management to design, implement and manage the end to end seamless process for Procurement and our suppliers
More about you
  • A good understanding of risk and regulatory environment in Sustainability, Information Security, Health & Safety, Brand and Data
  • Strong knowledge of governance and supplier assurance principles with experience of designing and implementing these in other businesses
  • Experienced in managing Procurement or other risk programmes across complex businesses
  • Experienced in driving Procurement improvement programmes across assurance, governance, and risk
  • Demonstrate accountability by setting clear outcomes and holding ourselves and others to account
  • You proactively seek to understand the changing business context and work with peers to solve business challenges. You put the bigger picture first, and are proactive in regularly reviewing your goals to ensure you are focused on the right things in support of the wider team.
  • You are open minded and proactively adapt your approach during times of change, seeing it as an opportunity. You support others to deal with unforeseen situations.
  • You proactively build relationships based on honest and integrity that enable you to collaborate effectively across the business. You understand how teams can support each other to achieve their goals.
