Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for working with Product Owner's to define and manage the backlog, eliciting business requirements, preparing feasibility proposals, and producing estimates for internal and / or external design. The Business Analyst will also be responsible for supporting the UK&I Infrastructure project & development teams as they deliver projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Guide and facilitate requirements gathering workshops with internal teams as well as clients
• Clearly translate business requirements into technical specifications including user stories, process diagrams and interface wireframes to support accurate estimations, delivery timelines and development productivity.
• Develop functional specifications and system design specifications for client/internal engagements
• Ensure all solutions meet the requirements for the project
• Consistently and proactively strive to improve the quality of the work and tweak processes
• Deliver multiple projects at once
• Exhibit confidence and an extensive knowledge of emerging industry practices when solving business problems
• Go to expert for product questions and challenges.
• Create user stories and acceptance criteria
• Participate in sprint planning and review meetings with related stakeholders, and development team
• Attend and participate in daily scrum team stand-ups
• Prepare and conduct product demonstrations, prototype demonstrations, proof of concepts and development roadmaps to internal and client audiences.
• Support the requirements gathering, product / feature definitions and project management aspects of the process to ensure clear definitions of requests and changes are achieved.
• Work closely with:
• Business Analysis guild to mentor and share best practices
• Product Manager(s) / Product Owners to ensure roadmap items are delivered
• Architecture and Development to ensure sure the correct solution is designed
• Business partners to define and document business and technical requirements for data and analytics projects. This includes the documentation of data flows and data mapping from source systems
• QA to ensure quality of features once implemented
Qualifications
• Experience working as a Business Analyst/Technical Business Analyst
• An understanding of defining user journeys and stories
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with staff at all levels of organisation.
• Proven track record of managing activities that support full project lifecycle implementations.
Required Technical Skills/Knowledge:
• Experience working on the commercialisation of new and existing products
• Previous experience working with Infrastructure Platforms
• Experience of delivering products using agile development methodology techniques, working directly with developers/technical teams
