Indirect Tax Senior - VAT

This role is an opportunity to support our clients in understanding and managing their tax compliance obligations.

You’ll support clients on their local VAT matters from compliance perspective, with the objective of reducing their compliance risk and achieving cash flow optimization.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• A thorough understanding of the UAE and GCC VAT laws and regulations.
• Support the VAT team in the VAT implementation and VAT assessments / health checks for a portfolio of clients.
• Support the Tax team in the VAT Due Diligence projects.
• Be responsible for VAT portfolio of clients focusing on VAT returns review and filing as well as other VAT compliance related tasks.
• Review the work performed by the tax associates and tax consultants on VAT returns, VAT refunds, VAT registration and de-registration.
• Have a reporting skill to support the VAT team in the VAT implementation and assessment projects.
• Proactively assist and add value to the VAT advisory tasks.
• Add value to our partnership with our clients and maintain exceptional level of VAT services.
• keep updated with the legislative changes to VAT domestically, regionally, and globally.
• Demonstrate strong problem solving and decision making skills.
• Adhere to the firm's code of conduct.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

• 2 - 3 years’ experience in VAT in UAE with a reputable tax consultancy firm.
• Bachelor’s degree in economics (Core focus on tax, accounting, or finance).
• UAE VAT compliance diploma (is an advantage).
• Expert in MS office tools.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong organizational and team working skills.
• Demonstrable business development skills.
• Ability to train associate staff members promoting a learning culture.
