Band 5 - Up to £35,000 per annum plus benefits

The role of Accounts Payable is fundamental to Serco in that it ensures suppliers are paid to their terms but more importantly on time which is achieved by working collaboratively with our business users and 3rd Party provider.

The role will fundamentally support the PTP Manager and Global Process Lead on all critical projects and day to day activities to enable efficient and effective operation of the receipt to pay process.

As part of this you'll:

  • Identify inactivity and housekeeping requirements.
  • Run relevant reports to ensure P2P data is clean, consistent, up to date and of the required quality.
  • Support the PTP team in monitoring service delivery against SLA and quality standards.
  • Work with colleagues in other functions (e.g. Procurement & IT) to resolve data maintenance process and quality issues, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support business users in understanding data that is in the system and how this data affects the Receipt to Pay process.
  • Act on system notifications relating to changes to supplier master data records.
  • Support the development, testing and deployment of new, and changes to, existing processes, working with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency.
  • Identify and escalate issues appropriately and be confident in escalation management including stakeholder feedback and dissatisfaction.


What you'll need to do the role

First and foremost, you'll need to have experience working in an accounts payable role. You will be confident with working in a fast-paced environment and be able to stay focussed and professional even when under pressure. You will have experience working with the Microsoft Suite and show willingness to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Lastly, you will be a people person who is flexible and able to multitask.
