The Vacancy

We are seeking a Cost Accountant to join the team at Pilgrims Corsham.

Reporting the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will be responsible for the costings of existing and new product lines, producing our products cost standards. A key part of the role will also support reporting on variances (labour, materials etc) to those standards including profitability by product, identify trends and making corrective actions with internal teams. Involvement with implementation of a new product life cycle costing system. Within the wider finance team support other daily, weekly, and monthly reporting requirements leading to our site profit & loss results, balances reconciliations, KPI's, stocktaking, commentary and other functions as skills and experience allows.

Essential:
  • ACCA/CIMA - part qualified/ qualified or qualified by experience in a similar role
  • Have experience with product costings / creation of product standards
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills particularly Excel, Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to plan and prioritise
  • Work well under pressure and to deadlines

Desirable
  • Logical mind with great attention to detail
  • Ability to plan and organise multiple tasks
  • Work well in a team, and be able to build strong relationships internally and externally of finance

Although not essential, it would be advantageous if you have:
  • Experience with SAP
  • Experience with cooked meat manufacturing


The normal working hours are Monday-Friday 8.00am - 4.30pm
