Duties include:
- Preparation of accounts for sole traders, limited companies and partnerships, including the drafting of corporate tax returns.
- Working in an audit team to assist with the audit of client records – this will be undertaken remotely and on client’s site.
- Book-keeping and preparation of management accounts for clients including the drafting of VAT returns.
- Communicating directly with clients over general queries on their records.
- Reporting to a manager on a daily basis.

ACCA - Accounting And Taxation Professional Apprenticeship Level 7
There are three levels including Applied Knowledge, Applied Skills and Strategic Professional.
- Applied Knowledge helps you understand the role of accounting in the business environment, and develop the practical skills and techniques expected of an accountant working in business.
- Applied Skills encourages you to develop a broad understanding of the role of accounting in business, and how to interpret financial information.
- By studying Strategic Professional, you’ll learn advanced techniques, skills, and the professional ethics required of an accountant or consultant operating at a senior level. Once you’ve successfully passed you can apply to be a full member of ACCA.
Training will be provided by attending either face-to-face classroom based lessons, Live Online sessions or OnDemand. An apprenticeship has to be relevant to the job you are undertaking and you must dedicate 20% of your time towards it.
On qualification progression is available around the practice for manager posts or moving into specialist areas or sectors.
Required:
- Degree 2 (i) or above – any subject.
- At least 3 B’s at A Level or equivalent.
- Maths and English GSCE or equivalent grade 6 / B or above.
- Training will be given on all software packages and on the Mitchell Charlesworth’s processes.
- Ability to show that they have strong numeracy and IT skills together with strong organizational and communication skills.
