About your role

Reporting to our Group Financial Controller, as a Financial Accountant you will assist in maintaining accurate and timely financial information, implementation of best in practice financial processes and control's and supporting operational activities across both Harrison and our ventures. With a deep understanding of financial and accounting principles gained from the CA qualification, you will uphold a mindset of continuous improvement to enable our Finance function to maintain the highest standards whilst also scaling in line with business and associated venture priorities.

What you'll do:
    • Contribute to, enable and review the outputs from the existing outsourced finance activities, including but not limited to: bookkeeping, accounts payable and payroll and associated employee compliance obligations;
    • Conduct month-end responsibilities which include recording group transactions, maintaining financial statement integrity;
    • Assist with the annual audit, financial statement preparation and company tax and R&D lodgements;
    • Ensure accounting standards and policies are adhered to through completion and review of technical accounting papers;
    • Assist with internal reporting preparation and continuous improvement of management reporting;
    • Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes;
    • Contribute to the design and implementation of best in practice financial processes (including financial accounting, AP, AR, Payroll processes); and
    • Assist in future fundraising activities and delivery of cash flow reporting.


What we're looking for:
    • Strong technical accounting knowledge, evidenced through a Bachelor's Degree in relevant finance field and CA qualification;
    • Previous experience in both auditing and financial accounting, with a solid understanding of group consolidations, IP Capitalisation and R&D;
    • Ability to deliver commercial outcomes under tight timeframes in a high growth environment;
    • Experience partnering with the business and strong customer centricity; and
    • Great team player who also works well autonomously and has a passion for finding creative solutions to ambiguous, never-seen-before problems.


Nice to have (but not essential):
    • Previous experience working for an ASX listed organisation with a focus on technology is highly desirable.
