We are currently seeking an Accountant to join our accounting and finance team, reporting to the Controller. They will be based in our beautiful Chelsea-based NYC office and will be a key role in our accounting function helping with responsibilities such as:
Job Duties:
- Perform day-to-day accounting functions including A/P, A/R, GL and Balance sheet account reconciliation
- Complete payments and controls expenses by processing, coding, and verifying invoices.
- Respond to all company and vendor inquires in a professional and timely manner
- Weekly management of expense reports
- Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
- Ensures compliance with internal procedures and financial accounting and reporting controls.
- Support accounting team with the month end close process
- Perform 1099 preparation
- Assist with related ad hoc projects as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline required
- A minimum of 2 years’ of relevant accounting experience in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks with high degree of attention to detail
- Hands-on attitude and ability to troubleshoot and problem solve across teams and tools
