Description of business unit
Financial Control is responsible for delivering inputs into statutory, management, regulatory, and external reporting, ensuring the right controls are in place.
Financial Control work closely with stakeholders across the Group and third parties to ensure that there is a continued focus on delivering a culture of service excellence, developing our people and supporting the achievement of the Group's strategic priorities.
The Financial Control team is responsible for the controlling and reporting on the Group's financial statements, as well as delivering certain regulatory returns. The team works closely with other teams in the wider Finance team.
Purpose of the Role
The role is responsible for producing inputs to monthly, quarterly and semi-annual financial reporting. The role-holder will support the Financial Controller and Commercial Partners on production of regular deliverables, as well as supporting on other strategic initiatives.
The role holder has responsibility for the delivery of timely and accurate financial and management information to support effective decision making and review. In addition, it is encouraged that the role holder will be involved in the roll out of best practice in operational improvement and systems enhancement.
Key Accountabilities
- Production of MI
- Production of selected FINREP tables on a quarterly basis.
- Input to quarterly financial review pack
- Collaborate with colleagues in the wider Finance team to ensure best practice in all areas of the role
- Working with colleagues across the company, ensuring effective collaboration, communication and development of solutions
- Provide support as the need arises to Commercial Partners.
- Contribute to a successful team that is rising to the challenge of a constantly evolving environment.

This Financial Control role is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious financial accountant, looking to expand their knowledge and experience of banking and treasury products.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to management and other key stakeholders in the Group as the key point of contact for information on the Group's financial statements.
Essential Qualifications
- Part-qualified accountant or proven experience or education.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of financial accounting and reporting
- Demonstrated experience of delivery to tight reporting deadlines
- Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Desirable Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Experience in the banking sector.
- Knowledge of SAP general ledger.
- Experience of working towards change, with the initiative and courage to challenge the status quo.
