Working closely with the everyone in the audit team, from your direct report through to Partner, you will focus on the completion of sections of the audit with their guidance.  This role involves exposure to aspects of the audit and tax work done by others and contact with audit clients.

The team undertakes tasks including (but not limited to)

  • Completion of bookkeeping records
  • VAT return preparation
  • Preparation of management accounts
  • Preparation of year end accounts
  • Corporate and Private Client Tax return preparation
  • Supporting clients with their cloud accounting software and apps

Vacancies

Starting mid August 2023, we have vacancies available throughout Scotland. We also sometimes have vacancies in areas of our business outwith Audit, Business Advisory and Tax. If you have a specific area in which you would like to specialise, please let us know.

What we are looking for

You will be a recent Graduate with (or working towards) a first class or 2:1 honours degree in any subject. We will accept applications from outstanding candidates with non-relevant degrees, however we would like to hear in your application what attracted you to apply for the graduate scheme with Johnston Carmichael.

You will have a growth mindset and a passion for learning.  You will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail and take pride in your work.

Good time management, problem solving skills and the ability to make sound judgements is essential along with a can-do approach.
