Page Personnel is partnering with a successful retail business based in Southsea who are looking for Assistant Financial Accountant/Assistant Accountant to join their accountancy team on a full time permanent basis.
Client Details
Our client is a successful retail business who have seen rapid growth in the past 12 months. They are based in Southsea and do require travel to their offices but do also offer a hybrid model of working.
Description
As the Assistant Financial Accountant/Assistant Accountant you will be responsible for:
- Overseeing banking and allocation of daily receipts
- Reconciliation of bank accounts and resolution of unreconciled transactions
- Monitoring, reporting and forecasting of cash flow, including commentary of any variances and reporting
- Preparation of the balance sheet reconciliation, analysis, and corrections on a monthly basis
- Preparation of the quarterly VAT reports for internal review
- Developing, issuing and maintaining monthly reporting packs and interfaces.
- Undertake certain elements of the preliminary audit.
- Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts
- Manage the purchase ledger, logging, maintaining and filing invoices
- Payment authorisation process
- Payment processing
- Check and reconcile supplier statements
- Investigating purchase ledger queries
- Collation of data for tax disclosures (including P11D / Class 1A)
- Maintaining financial records including filing and other related admin
- Provide cover for other members of the team when on holiday.
- Ad hoc duties to improve departments controls and compliance
Profile
To be successful for the Assistant Financial Accountant/Assistant Accountant role you must:
- AAT or CIMA/ACA/ACCA part qualified or bachelor's degree
- Ambitious and passionate about the role
- An ability to demonstrate high levels of numeracy and accuracy.
- Good communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with staff of all levels.
- Strong IT skills including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Attention to detail
- Highly organised with efficient time management and ability to prioritise accordingly
- Positive and friendly with a "can do attitude"
- Experience with Odoo ERP system preferable but not necessary.
- Good judgement and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure as well as using own initiative.
Job Offer
Salary £35,000 - £40,000
