Senior Financial Reporting Accountant

This is a hands-on role with primary responsibility over the month end process and providing support to the rest of the Financial Reporting team in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the Trial Balance (Oracle) and reporting to the Group.

Description

• Monthly review of analysis of the income statement and balance sheet for the Group
• Subject matter expert for owned processes, including expected credit losses (ECL) and effective interest rates (EIR)
• Overseeing month end processes and keeping it on track including and completion of HFM reporting to parent
• Assisting in the Annual statutory reporting for the consolidated Group and other Group entities.

Profile

• Fully qualified accountant with experience of working in financial services, preferably banking
• Proven experience of preparing IFRS financial statements
• Strong understanding of relevant accounting standards and legislation
• Good interpersonal skills as the role will deal with a number of different stakeholders
• Highly credible with the ability to effectively influence at a senior level
• Ability to challenge current practices and identify more efficient solutions
• Inquisitive, investigative and comfortable with ambiguity i.e. solving problems with incomplete information and challenging the norm.
• Good working knowledge of standard accounting systems, preferably Oracle and HFM and interest in new technology
• Strong Excel knowledge and proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications such as Word and PowerPoint
