Management Accountant

This is a newly created role and the successful candidate will have a broad range of responsibilities, reporting in to the FD as one of two qualified accountants within the Finance team.

A market-leading business in the travel and tourism sector, our client is a successful international organisation with its head office based in the Brighton area, very accessible by train. The company has enjoyed strong and stable leadership and, as a result, has a high calibre and committed work force. The Finance team is highly regarded and the FD is looking to add a new Management Accountant to support during busy periods and to increase and develop the commercial accounting produced by the team.

Description

Key tasks will include; management accounting to include high quality budgeting, cash flow management and forecasting and supporting the production of statutory accounts. You will also be expected to lead by example and, when required, act in a supervisory role in relation to the 5 members of staff who are responsible for the transactional accounts function.

More detailed responsibilities will include:

• Preparation and maintenance of accurate and appropriate accounting records on a timely basis for all Group companies

• Preparation of budget packs to be issued to Heads of Departments which occurs 4 times a year

• Maintain daily and monthly currency rates and perform revaluations of balance sheet items as required at month end

• Preparation of monthly Management accounts for each Company and the Group to include a detailed profit and loss account comparing actual versus budget and balance sheet

• Produce the cash report on a twice monthly basis, to include cash balances and detailed forecast for the next 3 months

• Review the current long term cash-flow procedure, suggest improvements and subsequently maintain this projection on a monthly basis

• Preparation of draft year end Statutory accounts for each Company and consolidated accounts for the Group from the respective audit schedules.

Profile
