YOUR ROLE IN A NUTSHELL:

As an important member of the in-house tax team, you will be reporting to the Head of Tax and will be responsible -
  • for the AUNZ Group meeting its New Zealand tax compliance and statutory obligations (income tax, GST and FBT)
  • for the management of the transfer pricing implications (in Australia and New Zealand) of the AUNZ Group's extensive related party cross border dealings

WHAT YOU WILL SPEND YOUR TIME DOING:
  • Managing and completing all New Zealand tax deliverables allocated to the in-house tax function (utilising CCH Tax Integrator)
  • Ensuring that appropriate internal controls are in place over accounting for income tax purposes, including issues tracking
  • Providing advice to management of the various New Zealand based businesses on day-to-day tax issues and accounting staff on tax accounting issues (including forming a single GST group in New Zealand)
  • Establish and maintain the associated taxation governance and compliance frameworks (including the making on time of any necessary periodic provisional tax instalment payments to the NZ IRD)
  • The collation and/or preparation of the AUNZ Group's transfer pricing documentation and schedules to be attached to various income tax returns lodged by the AUNZ Group and
  • Assisting the Head of Tax in various tax advisory and planning initiatives considered by the AUNZ Group (including any BEPS generated tax planning and computation opportunities)

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Degree qualified in Business, Finance or Accounting, CA/CPA or relevant Masters degree is desirable
  • Experience within a top or mid-tier accounting firm preferably in income tax, GST or transfer pricing
  • Ability to demonstrate strong working knowledge of tax accounting principles and Australia and New Zealand tax law
  • Experience in an internal tax function will be considered favourably
  • Attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities and to be able to drive change
