You will:

  • Play a leading role in market risk backtesting, p-values and net trading revenue calculation and reporting, including cleansing and analysis of P&L
  • Support the preparation, review and distribution of management reporting, metrics/ KPIs and dashboards on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis, as required
  • Prepare / review ad hoc and recurring analysis, adjustments, commentary and presentation material for weekly / monthly stakeholder reviews
  • Identify, report and escalate key risks and issues impacting backtesting and team performance
  • Lead / participate in process improvement initiatives to strengthen controls, drive automation / efficiencies and implement regulatory changes
  • Review, update and execute key controls, and keep evidence of performance
  • Review and update relevant policies and procedures, as applicable
  • Provide ongoing guidance and mentorship to team members.

Qualifications

You have:

  • University degree in Finance, Economics or similar field
  • Preferred 7+ years relevant work experience (Finance, Risk Management)
  • Experience in people management
  • CFA or FRM qualification is an advantage
  • Creative and innovative in sourcing and analyzing data; able to effectively synthesize and summarize detailed financial data to create meaningful, high-level, result-oriented dashboards
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in English (verbal / writing) and present complex issues in an easy-to-understand manner to various types of audiences
  • Strong communication skills - clear, concise, and appropriate method of delivery
  • Team leader, mentor and coach; responsibility to manage deliverables on tight deadlines
  • Experience with establishing and meeting critical deadlines, as well as tracking and driving execution
  • Flexibility to change priorities as new situations present themselves
  • Collaborative team player with a strong work ethic that works effectively in cross-functional team environment
  • Ability to confidently interact / escalate with stakeholders across regions

Team profile:

The Market Risk Backtesting team within Regulatory Controllers is responsible for backtesting the Firm’s VaR model used for RWA calculation under the Internal Model Approach on a daily basis and for reporting results periodically. The group liaises with Product Controllers, Market Risk Department, Regulatory Controllers globally.
