Job Description Summary
Lloyds Banking Group is the UK's largest Digital, Retail and Commercial Bank with a focus on Helping Britain Prosper. Our Finance teams sit at the heart of the organisation. Group Finance Support (GFS) is a team of c600 colleagues within the Finance Division (c2600) with responsibility for the core platforms, processes, financial reporting and controls for Finance. It also supports Finance through provision of Divisional responsibilities, People & Culture initiatives, Systems & Data capabilities and Strategy development.

We're looking for a motivated individual to join the Accounting Systems - Integration & Interfaces team. The core purpose of the role is to support the month end processing on MABE4 and FDPP but also a wider Accounting Systems role managing the communication & escalation around system and overnight process issues as they arise, whilst also ensuring effective governance of key Finance systems managed within Accounting Systems.

The role requires a good finance systems background, with knowledge around source system integration into the ledger an advantage. Accounting experience preferable but not crucial. The ability to think wider than individual operational processes. Your ability to provide thoughtful challenge and ideas for improvement is key to the role, as is your ability to prioritise with clear and effective communication skills. You'll have a good understanding of the need for effective risk governance and will be able to work effectively within a team, collaborating with a wide range of teams within GFS and beyond to help support the protection of BAU processes.

This role is based in Group Finance Support's Bristol hub.

Job Description

Key responsibilities!
  • Perform daily and monthly operational processes to support the data integrity and availability of the Finance sub-ledgers, primarily MABE4 and the Finance Data Processing Platform (FDPP), including reconciliations, journal adjustments, distribution of data extracts and responding to customer queries
  • Operate monthly controls to ensure SOX and Group Minimum Standards (GMS) compliance.
  • Energy and drive to identify, analyse, implement and formalise process improvements.
Also for the wider role across Accounting Systems:
  • Help to manage communication of incidents which impact Finance processes, liaising with systems SMEs and IT to manage communication with key business contacts & system users through to resolution.
  • Support the investigation and resolution of system incidents and issues impacting the finance applications.
  • Participate and help co-ordinate post incident root cause analysis, where deemed appropriate.
  • Work in conjunction with Accounting Systems Senior Managers and BUCF to monitor and adjust documented risks and process workarounds accordingly.
Do you have these skills?
  • The ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, in a clear and effective manner with a wide variety of partners
  • Strong technical and numerical skills, including a good solid understanding of Microsoft Excel
  • Highly organised with a keen attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively is essential.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic and a desire to take on new opportunities and challenges
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team whilst using own initiative
  • Accounting and SQL experience would be preferable, however full training will be provided.
  • Experience of robust operational systems, processes and controls supporting daily and monthly finance system cycles.
  • Track record of delivery focus.
