In a nutshell
The role works within the Supply Chain and Logistics Finance team and is responsible for supporting the Logistics Operational Execution team. This role is responsible for creating the assets required to effectively business partner, focussing on value creation and collectively strengthening our performance. The job holder will provide insight, analysis and commentary to stakeholders, aiming to influence and drive decisions and actions that improve the bottom line. This individual will support the Finance Managers and Senior Finance Managers in Logistics and the wider Finance team as required.
What you need to do
Run and interpret management reporting to provide timely insight, analysis and commentary to stakeholders
Identify risks, anomalies and opportunities and flag these to Finance Manager / Senior Finance Managers for prioritisation
Build an understanding of an external perspective and use to engage Finance colleagues
Complete ad hoc / bespoke analysis for the business area as required to drive improvements
Work with internal teams including; FP&A, Supply Chain and ADA as required to complete analysis to resolve business problems
In line with timeline and process set by FP&A, work with business to manage Forecasting, LV, Centrals, Budgeting & Q2F
Build business cases and support post implementation reviews
Support the business to manage project budgets (if relevant), working with other Finance teams where collaborative projects demands this
Run Finance Basics master classes with wider business if required
Support the wider team on other Finance processes and budgets as required
Attend business review meetings presenting to and supporting our Stakeholders as needed
Review performance and challenge our 3PLs (3rd Party Logistics Partners) regarding costs and service
Success in this role will mean being able to deliver timely, robust and accurate analysis; translating data into valuable business insight, communicating all relevant financial and non-financial information when needed
What you need to know and show
Professionally Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA), or studying towards qualification
Strong Excel and numerical skills, with an aptitude for turning data into analysis and insight and being able to clearly articulate this through your communication
Strong commercial acumen
To have a good track record of strong financial control, but also the ability to maintain such an environment
Team player, able to work effectively within frameworks without direct supervision
Effective communicator with all levels of stakeholders, including audiences of varying financial and commercial acumen
Curiosity beyond traditional finance boundaries and ability to understand key business drivers
Self-motivated team player, able to work autonomously, prioritise with good problem-solving abilities
Ability to prioritise workload whilst managing business and finance stakeholder expectations in a fast paced, ever changing environment
Must have a strong eye for detail and accuracy
