Why this role is important to us

Global Billing Operations (“GBO”) is responsible for all of State Street’s client billing processes across the globe. The remit spans across Asset Servicing, Alpha, Global Markets, Global Advisors and the Digital division, covering over 50+ billing processes and 40+ legacy platforms. GBO is undergoing a multi-year transformation spanning people and operating model, processes and controls, data automation and technology. The Head of Billing Transformation – Global Finance Center Lead (“GFC”) will be a key partner in driving implementation of the billing transformation strategy across client setup, user acceptance testing of new system build out, validation and conversion and own the data operations team. This role will be a key partner to the Head of Billing Transformation as we develop the target state operating model for the future of billing operations.

Job Purpose

State Street has committed to significantly automating and streamlining the technology and data associated to its varied billing processes. As part of this commitment, there is a dedicated Billing Transformation organization responsible for developing and implementing the appropriate strategy to migrate from legacy, manual processes to a highly automated environment with more robust controls. A significant component of the Transformation team is located in the GFC and responsible for several key areas of implementing the transformation efforts. This role will head up the Billing Transformation group in the GFC be responsible for ensuring that the various components of data lineage, data operations system requirements and testing, fee schedule reviews and conversion are all operating in sync in line with the strategy and prioritization defined by the Head of Billing Transformation to achieve the goals of migration to the single, Oracle based platform (ORMB).

What you will be responsible for

  • Executing client setups to drive conversion of fee schedules from legacy billing applications to the target state billing process and technology platform
  • Owning the data operations of the ORMB environment to ensure data coming in from source systems is managed in a well-controlled manner, with robust process and controls, including developing data quality dashboards and exception reports and metrics
  • Driving the billing validation workstream as part of the conversion process, resolving variances between legacy billing output and ORMB pre-conversion to ensure a high quality converted future state
  • Execution of user acceptance testing, including scenario development of test cases, performing of testing and resolving testing exceptions in partnership with IT

  • Partnering on large scale global enterprise programs and system implementation and/or experience in driving complex, firm wide projects across multiple stakeholders
  • Proven leadership skills in managing large teams, developing and maturing the team skill-set and motivating teams through challenging environments

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree required
  • 15+ years of experience, proven experience of implementing large scale projects preferred

Additional requirements

  • Experience with Agile methodology preferred
  • Travel up to 25% may be required depending on location
