Summary
This is a key role within the China Finance team that shall be responsible and accountable for financial reporting and regulatory reporting activities. The team is responsible for maintaining China’s accounting records; preparation of monthly accounts as part of the close process, internal and external reporting; tax returns; regulatory returns and general finance control activities. You will be working closely with the Country Head of Finance and will be responsible for the documentation and preparation of regulatory reports. You will also be involved in different ad-hoc initiatives for the country and APAC Finance.
You must demonstrate critical thinking, analytical skills and have strong accounting experience.
What you will do
Finance Operations
- Daily bank account operating and banking facilities management.
- Processing vendor and staff payment and coordination account payable processing
- Preparation for ledger entries for review and supporting calculation and documentation
- Preparation for financial and regulatory accounts closing and reporting for review and submission
- Assisting with external party for tax compliance and external audit
Regulatory Reporting
- Responsible for the documentation and preparation of regulatory reports.
- Responsible for formulating, coordinating and overseeing preparation of policies to ensure regulatory compliance with applicable regulatory bodies and reporting requirements are met
- Responsible for preparation of daily compliance ratio and assisting with country liquidity risk control management
- Able to serve as a key subject matter expert
- May be work with regulators to influence future regulatory developments and interpretations
Treasury and Management Reporting
- Working closely with the Country Finance Manager on treasury and FX operation activities
- Preparation for the monthly management reporting pack and variance analysis
- Preparation for management committee reporting
- Addressing ad-hoc requests accurately and on a timely basis
- Involvement in ad-hoc initiatives
Your Knowledge/Skills
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required, CA or CPA certification is preferred
- Thorough regulatory reporting knowledge of banking industry
- Experienced knowledge of accounting functions and related concepts
- Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards
- Above 6 years of related work experience, at least 3 year regulatory reporting exposure.
- Ability to develop relationships with diverse groups and various levels of financial and operating personnel
- Flexibility, multi-tasking, creative thinking, good business judgment skills are required to meet strict deadlines and manage other projects
- Must be a team player and able to work under pressure during peak periods
