Icon Water’s Asset Strategy and Investment Planning team are looking for a highly motivated and professional individual who gets a thrill in developing long-term plans to join us as our Asset Investment Planner. You will lead the development of our Asset Portfolio investment plan and support the development of Asset Management Plans.

Icon Water is responsible for owning and operating Canberra’s network of water and wastewater infrastructure and assets including dams, reservoirs, water and sewerage treatment plants, pumping stations to ensure we deliver safe drinking water and reliable sewerage services.

What would my day look like?

  • Meeting people across the business to understand the risks, opportunities and potential costs of candidate investment projects
  • Developing a 20-year asset portfolio investment plan 
  • Reviewing our asset portfolio planning process to drive continuous improvements
  • Preparing asset financial analysis
  • Analysing data to make informed decision-making

If you have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, such as in engineering, economics, finance or accounting. If you had a double degree in engineering and economics/business/finance, that would be an advantage!
  • Experience in developing and monitoring asset life cycle costings
  • Extensive experience in portfolio investment planning
  • Experience influencing others to understand business requirements and collaborate together to achieve great business outcomes
  • Working knowledge of ISO 55001 requirements
