Are you looking for an interesting, sometimes challenging but always rewarding Accounts/Finance Manager role?

Do you want more responsibility and opportunity than what your current role can offer?

Do you want to play a part in a smaller company's growth and ultimate success?

If so, we could have the one for you.

This role is both rewarding and busy in equal measures. It's got many parts to it so your ability to juggle, work with what comes up in the day and to do the mundane accounts as well as the involved finance, is crucial.

The company are a small, well established engineering business based in Stockport with a current 5year plan to substantially grow as technology changes and they add additional pillars to the diverse range of products and services they offer.

They have a large client portfolio of Blue-Chip companies and as such, contracts and Terms & Conditions tend not to be 'one size fits all' as they are tailored to each client. As such, timing of payments and invoicing can be critical to ensure a positive cash flow.

The turnover of the company is increasing year on year, so they are very stable and it's a great time to join the company and help with forward planning and growth. Hence the need for an experienced accounts/finance manager to take over the accounts and finance function from the business owner so that they can focus on supporting other aspects of the business.

The office is a nice place to be and is full of engineers and projects people coming and going so it can go from quiet to chokka in an instant, and you can be pulled from PL/SL duties to dealing with a payroll anomaly, to confirming cash flow forecasting for the week, in an instant.

With this in mind, you really would need to be comfortable juggling the priorities of day-to-day accounts and have your finger on the proverbial pulse of cashflow/forecasts at any given time.

It's a busy role at times and there is plenty of variety to keep you on your toes and entertained, but it is also a role that needs your focus and attention to detail, so you'd need to be able to switch off to your surroundings at times in order to focus on what needs to accurately get done.

The other thing to consider is that along with accounts, admin and finance duties/tasks, there is also a reasonable amount of interaction over the phone/email with customers, engineers, suppliers and the likes. So being comfortable speaking over the phone or face to face and having good communication skills, both written and oral is a must.

It really is a great role if you enjoy getting involved in the intricacies as well as the repetition of finance and accounts, a level of autonomy in your role, and stability as well as variety.

If you are looking for a career move and want to take that next step up, this is the one to consider.

On the back of your knowledge, capabilities and successful efforts, you will have the autonomy to build your own accounts team as you help the business grow!

Main duties to include:

* Provide overall finance support to the two directors within the business

* Sales/Purchase ledger
