Client Details

Our client is a well-known Hong Kong Education Institution with around 3,000 staff in their Institution. They are now seeking for a payroll expert to join their team as they are having expansion in their campus in the coming years.

Description

  • Assisting the Finance Manager in developing and implementing new or revised payroll policies, procedures and system enhancement.
  • Supervising a small team to perform day-to-day payroll operations and retirement scheme operations.
  • Coaching subordinates to perform payroll related payment processing in a timely, accurately and confidential manner.
  • Performing staff cost allocation based on users' instructions and preparing payroll related reconciliations and reports.
  • Monitoring the retirement scheme administration, including accurate calculation of ORSO/MPF contributions and timely payment to trustees.
  • Handling taxation matters, including employees tax return reporting and filing.
  • Performing period end accounts closing and preparing staff costing analysis.
  • Maintaining proper record keeping / filings and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and the University's policies and procedures.
  • Handling and responding to users' enquiries on payroll, retirement schemes and tax related matters timely and appropriately; and
  • Undertaking other duties and responsibilities assigned.

Profile

  • A recognised degree or equivalent in relevant disciplines, preferably with professional accounting qualification.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience with 2 years at supervisory level.
  • Preferably hands on experience in payroll operations of tertiary educational institutions or sizeable organisations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and computerised accounting systems; hands on experience in Oracle Finance System and Oracle Human Resources Management System (HRMS) will be an added advantage.
  • Well versed with Hong Kong Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance, Employment Ordinance, Inland Revenue Ordinance and related legislation's;
  • Good team spirit, responsible, methodical, numeric sensitive, attentive to details, self-motivated and able to work closely and engage with various stakeholders;
  • Good command of written and spoken Chinese and English (preferably including Putonghua);
  • Sound organisational, analytically and problem solving skills; and
  • Able to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks meeting tight deadlines
