Our vision in Equiniti Finance is to be a leader in our financial disciplines of reporting, planning and analysis that will lead to improvements in the quality of financial data and decision making.

The Group Finance team includes Group FP&A, systems and Finance Business Partnering for the Group Centre support functions.
The team are responsible for running the Group's financial reporting and planning activities, performing financial analysis and creating insight to drive better financial decision making. The team are finance partners to the Exco leads for the Group Centre support functions with a Budget of c.£200m.
The team is also responsible for the maintenance and development of the Group's financial planning and reporting tool: Adaptive Planning.

The Role

The Group Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst will be part of the team responsible for managing the Group's reporting and planning function. The role will be at the centre of Equiniti's transformation programme; simplifying and standardising financial information; automating processes; creating best in class finance systems; with a purpose to create insight, help run our business more effectively and to act with speed and agility to enable the organisation to react to ever changing market conditions.

The successful candidate will report into the Group Financial Planning & Analysis Manager and work closely with the Divisional Finance Directors, Finance Business Partners and the Financial Reporting team. Responsibilities will include; supporting the consolidation the Group's financial reporting and planning, preparation of monthly Executive Committee and Board papers and reporting of the Group's cashflow. The candidate will also be expected to provide financial insight and analytics that will drive margin improvement and support the delivery of the key financial performance measures.

Core Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
  • Support the delivery of the Group's month-end reporting processes; key outputs being Executive Committee and Board presentations
  • Support the delivery of the Group's Budget and Forecast processes; providing guidance in line with financial assumptions and timetables
  • Input to design of reporting for monthly performance, budget and forecast presentations
  • Prepare insightful and action driven analysis; for regular and ad hoc reporting requirements
  • Support the preparation of rolling risk and opportunity analysis
  • Engage in the finance business partner forums to share best practice and cultivate idea generation
  • Support financial work-streams for Group M&A activities
  • Support the preparation of Audit Committee papers, including the Viability Statement
  • Support the maintenance and administration of the Group's planning tool, Adaptive Insights


Skills, Capabilities and Attributes

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience, skills and behaviours:
  • Part qualified (and actively studying) or newly qualified accountant through either the ICAEW, ACCA or CIMA;
  • Self-motivated with proven analytical, organisational and problem solving skills;
  • Has demonstrated high levels of personal accountability and flexibility to meet deadlines;
  • Proven experience of delivering results over a sustained period in a challenging environment;
  • Strong financial analytical, modelling and accounting skills. Create and provide insight
  • A strong commercial acumen
  • Exhibiting a Growth Mindset; having an inquisitive mind, desire to learn and take on stretch goals
  • Demonstrate a continuous improvement approach; proven ability to identify and deliver improvements and share best practices
  • Can interpret financial information to identify drivers impacting business performance;
  • Prior experience and knowledge of accounting processes;
  • Strong Excel skills;
  • Knowledge of financial reporting systems (Workday and Adaptive Planning desirable).
