REED accountancy are delighted to announce that we are working with a prestigious, fast-growing top 20 accountancy practice based in Letchworth Garden City. Our client is looking for a Head of Audit to join their exciting audit team. The perfect candidate will be able to manage a team of seniors and juniors and be able to delegate and oversee the work of their peers. You must be ACA/ACCA qualified and have extensive experience working within an accountancy practice.

- The ideal candidate will have excellent technical capabilities in audit and have experience of owner managed and SME sectors
- You must be a natural leader and enthusiastic about driving your team forward and delivering results, achieving financial targets, developing products as well as developing the cultural aspects of the team, including pay reviews and wellbeing
- There is significant scope for progression with this role, with the opportunity to gain responsibility in the management of the wider firm
- An annual salary of up to £100,000
- Strong plans for growth in revenue and profitability with a focus on contribution
- You will report directly to the Managing Director as well as the head of operations
- You will be technically proficient and will have personal targets surrounding the delivery of services to clients
- You will have to be able to manage a team of seven; audit manager, two semi seniors, and two juniors
- You must be a qualified RI (Responsible Individual)
- The ability to provide support to the Audit Manager to help them ensure the team are performing well and meeting targets
- Office hours are 37.5 hours Monday to Friday
- There is a flexible working policy, no core hours, no official start or finish time
- Attire is dependent on the day
- Hours must be agreed with the line manager
- ACA/ACCA fully qualified with extensive experience in practice
- Concise communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to review existing systems and to make improvements
- You must have strong technical knowledge of corporate accounting and audit matters (UK GAAP, FRS102, IFRS and ISA's)
