An exciting financial leadership opportunity has arisen in the role of CFO LCH Ltd and LCH Group, reporting to the CFO Post Trade.

Post Trade Division is one of the three LSEG business divisions and a significant player in Global financial markets. Post Trade has 2020 income of £915m, Balance Sheet clearing assets of £900 billion and over a Quadrillion of annual cleared notional Interest Rate Swaps. The division contains three core businesses, LCH Ltd (world's largest clearing house and largest counterparty to most global banks), LCH SA (national French clearing house and a credit institution) and UnaVista (pan European regulatory reporting service). The business provides systemically critical services to the market, is globally relevant and is highly regulated by multiple regulators including the Bank of England, Banque De France, CFTC and regular interactions with the Fed. The division provides a range of clearing and bilateral services as well as financial resource optimisation and reporting solutions to support customers' risk and balance sheet management, regulatory reporting, and capital efficiency.

This is a significant financial and leadership role which requires a talented and experienced finance business partner who can work closely with the CEO of LCH, the CFO of Post Trade and all the support functions to shape the future of this new business. Acting as a global leader, you will be required to drive and manage a growth agenda, whilst simultaneously delivering on synergy and savings plans. This will require you to navigate investment choices across a complex, regulated business, whilst delivering the highest standards of financial management, analysis and reporting. In addition, the role includes significant exposure to regulated subsidiary Boards, and regulators.

Based out of London, you will lead a team of 6 people, whilst also interacting extensively with colleagues in the finance CoE and with the financial controller group. You will have a key role on both the Post Trade Finance and LCH Ltd Leadership teams.

As a leader you will need to demonstrate strong intellect and curiosity, combined with maturity, wisdom, and the ability to influence effectively across a large matrixed organisation. You must be able to build strong business partnerships and interpersonal relationships with the confidence to challenge decisions and ways of thinking. You will be an effective collaborator and be comfortable making business recommendations to the Executive Committee and the Board.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as an integral part of LCH ltd leadership team, assisting with any strategic decision making that requires financial input
  • Maintain a detailed knowledge and understanding of LCH Ltd business drivers and bring a comprehensive understanding of how these fits into Group strategy
  • Challenge and make recommendations with respect to performance against budget, budget setting and financial viability of new initiatives
  • Use underlying trends, future business plans and external market factors to assist with the composition of short-term forecasts (current financial year), budgets (next financial year) and 3-year plans
  • Work with the Post Trade leadership team to create new value, using commercial acumen, strategy and resource allocation
  • Provide valuable analysis & commentary of the LCH results
  • Prepare monthly performance updates for leadership ensuring key risks, issues and opportunities are highlighted, with a focus on key value drivers
  • Provide meaningful scenario and sensitivity analysis to facilitate decision making
  • Ensure the practices of the team are underpinned by efficient and relevant processes and systems
  • Work with Group Head of FP&A and Group Head of Investor Relations in respect of quarterly, half-year and full-year external announcements


Experience and skills:
  • Financial Business Partnering Experience: A successful track record of working in partnership with a business leader to drive performance.
  • Scale and Complexity: Experience within a business of commensurate scale and complexity with international operations is important.
  • Industry Relevance: A background within market infrastructure, financial services or technology whilst not essential would be ideal. Personal experience of M&A activity is preferred.
  • Financial Management: Significant experience and knowledge of all aspects of financial management including strong process, accounting and control experience is preferred.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis Skills: Strong expertise in data analysis, forecasting, and planning. The ability to use this expertise to drive business understanding and performance
  • Risk Management: Able to identify and mitigate risks; experience of implementing and adhering to governance, risk, control and compliance processes
  • Experience in a Matrixed Environment: Comfortable working in a global, matrixed business
