Accountant - Sherbourne - up to £40,000

As an Accountant, you will receive some great benefits, including:- 8% employer pension contribution- Individual BUPA cover and Life insurance 4 x gross salary- Training support, if you are working towards completing or intending to commence study for a professional accounting qualification- Our commitment to provide you with ongoing CPD to enhance your knowledge, skills and experienceAs an Accountant, you will be responsible for the day-to-day bookkeeping, VAT, management accounts, statutory accounts and year end audits where required for a variety of entities/family interests. Your portfolio will include limited companies, partner and sole traderships operating predominately in the financial consultancy, investment and property sectors with the potential to work on pension schemes, trusts and charities.
Your role and responsibilities will include:- Ensure all finance functions and accounting records are maintained and management accounts prepared accurately and in a timely manner- Undertake prime entry bookkeeping tasks ensuring all income and costs have been appropriately approved, recorded accurately and VAT where applicable is correctly treated where required- Administer payments runs to the required frequency culminating in a weekly bank reconciliation where needed- Review the bookkeeping and payment runs of our Finance Assistants and provide constructive feedback as required
To be considered for this position, you will be a qualified accountant, qualified by experience or part-qualified with at least three years of relevant experience, ideally within practice or an audit environment. You will have VAT experience and he ability to work with confidential information
