You’ll be joining as an essential member within a team that is vital to the firm. The team focuses on delivering international statutory audits for large, complex organisations, who often operate a shared service centre model and operate cross border. This is a unique role within audit – leading a growing team delivering a fresh and innovative service offering.

Primarily, you’ll be responsible for dealing with all matters relating to the management of a portfolio of clients. You will also provide assistance to Partners in both client work and in the management of the group and, on occasions, the wider firm.

The team is London based, but there will likely be a need for international travel of up to 10 – 12 weeks overseas, as the world continues from the COVID-19 pandemic, and it is safe and permissible to do so.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients at senior levels, being a principal point of contact throughout the year. Develop a strong commercial understanding of the clients’ businesses. Engage with clients more directly on technical and audit judgement decisions.
  • People management responsibilities covering resource planning and allocation, performance management, training and recommendations for promotion. Act as a mentor to team members and provide coaching with a view to assisting them to achieve their personal career goals. Act as a role model for Manager level.
  • Support Partners in group sales and marketing activity, including playing a leading role in client pitch teams, attendance at group networking, and other marketing events as appropriate.
  • Contribute to development of new business relationships and business proposals through high level sales and marketing activity. This will include winning work by targeting new clients.
  • Support Partners with the implementation and communication of any new business strategy for existing clients, target clients and the internal business.
  • Responsible for maximising profitability from a portfolio of clients.
  • Act as an ambassador of the firm, participates in office marketing events, keeps abreast of the wide range of service the firm offers.
  • Complete assignments within agreed budgets and timescales and identify opportunities for additional billings.

When you join us, we’ll make your growth our priority. If you can demonstrate the following skills, we can help you go far. We’re looking for someone with:

  • Significant experience of delivering audit and other assurance services to major clients, including clients with international interests. Previous audit management experience in practice – proven experience in managing a wide portfolio of concurrent projects and project teams.
  • Experience of systems/controls testing as well as substantive auditing of complex financial statement areas, including consolidations, group audits, and review of statutory accounts and disclosures.
  • Project Management experience of large, complex engagements, or a large portfolio of smaller engagements, ideally with some cross border element.
  • Excellent working knowledge of UK and International GAAS, IFRS, UK GAAP and Financial Reporting requirements.
  • Managing and developing staff (not only audit teams), i.e. coordinating staff projects, mentoring, counselling, appraising, recruiting
  • Business development experience - able to evidence robust commercial and financial management of a portfolio of clients, as well as ability to identify and convert opportunities to sell work. Demonstrable knowledge of current economic and market trends.
