Role:

Working as part of a dedicated settlements team reporting to the Transfer Agency Settlements Team Leader. The successful candidate will be responsible for the execution and quality approval of external and internal cash payments whilst adhering to strict deadlines. In addition, the successful candidate will be required to support the Settlements Team Leader activities. Ensuring that all client service standards and regulatory requirements are met together with working with partners in different jurisdictions.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for authorisation & quality control checks for external and internal payments within strict currency deadlines
  • Day to day oversight of processing quality and timeliness in India, seeking appropriate information from local management where required
  • Work queue management
  • Adherence to Client SLDs
  • Monitor and assist on the queries and liaise with other departments where necessary
  • Take part in any project related work as required
  • Attendance at internal/client meetings as required
  • Maintains a close working relationship with other TA areas, such as Dealing, Registration, and other internal areas such as the Client Services
  • Fulfill additional, relevant, tasks appropriate to the role and business requirements
  • Completion of monthly KPIs
  • Completion of quarterly control checks
  • Working with other team members to ensure Settlements Team Mailbox is kept up to date at all times and that e mails are actioned/filed promptly and within the standard service levels.
  • Escalation point for queries within the IRL Settlements Team
  • Monitor and assist on the queries and liaise with other departments where necessary
  • Provision of all data for Audit/Compliance/Trustee/Depository reviews
  • Ensure sufficient cover for all tasks within the Settlements Team on a daily basis.
  • Fulfil additional, relevant, tasks appropriate to the role and business requirements
  • Take part in any project related work as required
  • Attend all mandatory training within the required deadlines

Accountabilities:

  • Employees are required to comply with the regulatory regime in which Northern Trust operates as appropriate to the above role.

Qualifications / Skills / Experience:

  • Demonstrate a detailed working knowledge of Transfer Agency Finance Functions
  • Ability to review and resolve complex issues working under pressure meeting challenging deadlines
  • Customer Service experience would be preferred
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills with a flexible approach to work
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Good Team Player
  • Effective verbal reasoning and numeric skills (Essential)
  • Good keyboard skills to include MS Excel and ability to learn systems used within the business (Essential)
  • Experience in working with Multiple Currencies
  • Extensive knowledge of regulatory environment is highly desirable
  • Knowledge and understanding of working within a regulatory Environment
