We have a variety of junior positions for individuals who know that they want to kick start their careers in Treasury. Read on to find out more about the areas where we are hiring:
1. Liquidity Modelling & Design team build in-house capabilities (Treasury Strats) to facilitate group-wide Liquidity Risk Management and enable stress testing of contractual cash flows and forecasting. They deliver business value with the offer of a long-term balance sheet projections toolkit that also meets our regulatory commitments in Recovery & Resolution planning.
Skills required: Enjoys research & development of prototypes / models, analytical mindset and proficient in Excel, VBA and / or Python
2. Advanced Analytics team provides data driven analytics to our key businesses offering a holistic view of their balance sheet and how various regulatory / internal constraints (funds transfer pricing, cost allocation etc) affect their profitability and impacted bank's return. We are hiring in 2 areas:
- Frontline: works closely with business stakeholders to understand intent and translate to clear requirements & methodology that can be communicated to data engineers and programmers.
Skills required: Enjoys building relationships, learns business acumen, thrives under ambiguity and a strong communication style
- Data Modelling and Analysis: translate business requirements into data models with technology.
Skills required: Comfortable with big / complex datasets, enjoys problem solving and proficient in Excel, VBA and / or Python,
3. Data Science team drives balance sheet optimization delivery through automated, data-driven analytical solutions, Assets and Liabilities Management behavioural models and statistical analysis (e.g., economic life and stability of Non-Maturing Deposits, early redemptions of term deposits, prepayments and pricing of embedded optionality) for Global Treasury (markets division, model owners and risk managers).
Skills required: Technical competencies in Python / R, good understanding of statistics, analytical mindset and enjoys solving problems / inefficient processes
4. Forecasting & Analytics team is in the front line of communication with broader Treasury, supporting them in their daily liquidity management, optimisation activities and drive adoption of models / tools by BAU functions.
Skills required: Strong interpersonal skills, continuous improvement mindset and proficient in VBA / Python
5. Business Management drives the execution of Treasury Liquidity Modelling and Platforms organizational strategy, communications, people agenda and administrative operations. It ensures that all aspects of organisational agenda and day-to-day operations is well managed.
Skills required: Strong organisational skills, excellent oral / written communications in English and proficient in Excel / Power Point
Some typical responsibilities for a graduate in Treasury include: - Design and enhance automated tools in Excel, VBA or Python for Treasury users globally
- Support optimization of solutions from technical and process perspective
- Run user acceptance testing on enhanced tools and provide actionable feedback
- Provide ongoing support to business end-users
- Preparing presentations / data visualisations that can be shared with broad stakeholder audience
- Support local governance matters and business management initiatives e.g., people agenda
Requirements - Final year of study or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics or similar
- Knowledge of Excel VBA / Python / R
- Basic knowledge of banking products and core banking systems
- Experience in the design and development of automated reports / processes would be an advantage
- Advanced written and verbal communication in English
- Good analytical, communication and documentation skills
- Flexible and responsiveness to handle changing priorities and urgent requests from management
- Ability to work under pressure to complete responsibilities within identified deadlines
- Creative problem solver with good multi-tasking skills and able to prioritise own tasks
- Self-starter who can quickly get up to speed, is keen to learn and has a curious mindset
