Who we are looking for?

We are looking for a Vice President (VP) for our UK location to manage approximately 12 -15 staff within our client change team. Using their experience and knowledge they will partner with both clients and colleagues to deliver both client and regulatory change within agreed deadlines. The successful candidate would be required to interact with client at a senior level to discuss overall service performance whilst ensuring their immediate line manager, and others, as appropriate, are kept aware of all issues/work in progress that may impact the quality of service being provided. This role can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements.

What you will be responsible for

The head of client change is responsible to ensure the client receives the highest level of support across State Street. This is predominately a client facing role, working with the client at various levels of seniority.

  • Communicate effectively with clients, third parties and colleagues ensuring they are kept aware of any developments affecting them with impact and empathy.
  • Lead or attend client change sessions or regular calls supporting the Client Managers
  • Ensure that change programs are tracked to completion with satisfactory results
  • Monitor all client change logs (ensure consistency, all projects are progressing, any cross benefits, time spent and client billing is actioned)
  • Lead/manage or act as an SME for client changes requests.
  • Provide Management information on change for the business unit
  • Ensure the immediate line manager and others, as appropriate, are kept aware of all issues/problems/queries/work in progress that may impact the quality of service being given
  • Deliver solutions to clients as their needs evolve through interpreting requirements and building frameworks from State Street infrastructure
  • Monitor and comply with changes to the ‘Risk’ escalation chain including communicating amendments to staff where needed
  • Keep up to date with legislative and regulatory changes affecting the business and clients
  • Lead and motivate staff, agree objectives for staff annually; monitor and appraise their performance providing regular formal and informal feedback
  • Set and maintain standards of personal and professional performance/behavior, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Effectively manage staff by driving mission of the client service organization; create opportunities for emerging talent to move into stretch assignments; proactive succession and development planning
  • Advance the team’s collective knowledge and effectiveness by bringing insights, innovation and solutions to the team and ensuring sustainable best practice across the full suite of products and services STT offers
  • Play a key role in establishing and nurturing a culture of ‘Risk Excellence’ across the GD UK Client Service team, encourage an environment of openness that welcomes effective challenge and supports open discussion.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of industry relevant experience and likely a background in either custody or general ledger accounting or audit experience
  • Previous client service reporting experience
  • Advanced Excel skills (advanced formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
